Recipe for a good day
You know what I realized? The most useful “medicine” is not pills. It’s coffee with your favorite flavor, laughter until tears, an unexpected compliment, a short call from a friend, and the feeling that you are important to someone. Sometimes a good day is just not too tired legs and a patient who said “thank you” from the heart.
We, doctors, are people too. And I stopped expecting big miracles a long time ago. Small ones are enough for me: a delicious breakfast, a sunny morning, and lightness in the soul.
So if your day started off gloomy, try my recipe: smile. To yourself. Just like that. And who knows, maybe the day will pick up this impulse.
