A fitness reality check
What happened: I decided to start my Saturday morning with a workout.
While using the step platform, I noticed a guy at a nearby machine trying to impress everyone by lifting a weight that was clearly too heavy for him.
He ended up nearly getting crushed by the barbell.
Without missing a beat, I helped him rack the weight and said with a smile, "Sure, sports are life, but it’s not worth maiming yourself just for an audience."
The guy turned out to be remarkably honest and considerate: he didn't make excuses, frankly admitted he just wanted to get my attention, and immediately redeemed himself by treating me to a protein shake and showing genuine interest in my passion for dancing.
I was surprised—such a refined, sophisticated guy, and yet he was hauling around such massive, heavy weights...
And only now have I realized the reason...
I guess he wanted to show that even a dancer has virility...
But I think that was pointless.
After all, everyone has long understood that it’s not easy for a man to be without a woman.
Don't tell me I'm wrong!
Because I've become convinced of this lately!
But you can argue with me if you want!
So, do you feel like it?
Then go ahead.
I'm waiting...
