Sometimes the warmest memories come from childhood...
We have a special winter holiday, St. Nicholas Day. It's like a little prelude to Christmas, when children believe that on this night, St. Nicholas quietly comes to homes and leaves little gifts under their pillows—candy, tangerines, or notes with good wishes.

As a child, it was a whole ritual:
The snow outside fell slowly and softly, as if deliberately making the evening magical. Parents always sent us to bed earlier than usual with conspiratorial smiles, as if they knew something special.

You lie in your warm pajamas, listening to the radiator crackle softly, to a kettle cooling somewhere in the kitchen... And you fall asleep with a feeling that the night will not be easy.

And the most wonderful thing is in the morning. Sleepy, in a dimly lit room, you slip your hand under your pillow, your heart skips a beat... and you find a tiny gift there.

And every time, it feels like it's not your parents, but someone truly magical who's been there.

This holiday isn't about big things, but about the little magic that makes the world a kinder place.

And, you know, sometimes even as an adult, you really want to wake up on a morning like this.
To feel a little bit of wonder again... that very childish, genuine one.
